Suits. Your next case: a starting point.
Nine original seasons, Jessica’s separate branch and a different Los Angeles ensemble. Let’s keep the files in order.
For a first Suits watch, begin with the original series at season one, episode one and follow its nine seasons in order. The opening premise pairs Harvey Specter with Mike Ross, whose lack of legal credentials is part of the story’s central deception. You do not need a spinoff checklist to understand that introduction.
Pearson and Suits LA are separately titled branches, not seasons ten and eleven. Pearson follows Jessica into Chicago politics; Suits LA centres Ted Black and a Los Angeles firm. Our routes separate the original journey, Jessica’s continuation and the newer ensemble so you can choose the kind of connection you want.

The original series
Our first-watch recommendation: keep the original story together before adding branches.
Suits — season one opening
Start with Mike and Harvey’s introduction and follow the episode order. The premise supplies the secret you need; a full-season recap supplies much more. Our linked Netflix source contains major spoilers, so save it for checking context after watching.
Netflix: original premise — major recap spoilersContinue through seasons two to seven
Stay with the changing relationships and institutions in sequence. The firm’s name is not a reliable place marker on its own. Keep a season-and-episode note if you pause, rather than guessing from a later clip or cast appearance.
Seasons eight and nine, then choose a branch
Complete the original’s nine-season run if that is the story you want. Our recommendation keeps branch switching optional. You can then try Pearson or Suits LA without treating a shared brand as a demand to watch everything.
USA Network: nine-season original and Pearson
Follow Jessica into Pearson
A character-focused branch with a season-seven checkpoint; broad setting spoilers ahead.
Reach Suits season seven, episode sixteen: Good-Bye
USA Network identifies this episode as Pearson’s backdoor pilot. For a first visit, reach it through the original story rather than starting here cold. You can stop at this branch point or finish the original first.
USA Network: Pearson branch pointPearson — episode one onward
Follow Jessica’s separately titled Chicago story in its own episode order. USA lists ten episodes. The move changes the setting and focus; it is not simply the next case in Harvey and Mike’s original arrangement.
USA Network: Pearson premise and episode countReturn to your Suits checkpoint
If you branched before completing Suits, resume where you paused. We do not require alternating individual episodes across the two programmes. That is a simpler editorial route, not a claim that every event occurs in precisely that sequence.
Meet the LA ensemble
Choose the separate spinoff with clear expectations about its central character.
Suits LA — its opening episode
Enter through Ted Black’s Los Angeles story. Bell Media’s official synopsis identifies him as a former New York federal prosecutor now representing powerful clients. If you came specifically for the original duo, start with Suits instead.
Suits LA: official broadcaster premiseKeep the LA episode sequence
Follow this series’ own order rather than slotting it between original Suits episodes. Shared-world references may be a bonus for established viewers; our route does not promise that every reference is explained to a newcomer.
Compare the ensemble, then backtrack if you want
Ask who holds authority, who needs trust and what a case costs a relationship. If that draws you toward the earlier programme, return to the original season-one opening. A different ensemble is an invitation to compare, not a replacement season.
The case can end while the consequence continues.
A useful way to approach a legal drama is to track two questions separately: what does this week’s client need, and what does pursuing that result change between the regular characters? You can understand a negotiation in the moment while still missing why someone’s trust is fragile. That is why we recommend sequence for a first watch.
Try a small viewing note with two lines: the immediate problem, and the relationship put under pressure. This is an analytical exercise, not a claim that every episode follows an identical structure. It can help you describe whether the professional puzzle or the ongoing ensemble is what brings you back.
Three titles, different commitments.
The nine-season original is the substantial first route. Pearson is a Jessica-led Chicago branch, with its launch connection located in season seven of Suits. Suits LA has Ted Black as its centre. Those distinctions are more useful to a newcomer than an enormous list that makes every branch look compulsory.
Treat the programmes as dramatic fiction when discussing professional behaviour. A satisfying television negotiation is not evidence of real procedure or advice about your own situation. For the viewing conversation, focus on what the scene makes you want, what information it withholds and whose confidence it asks you to trust.
USA Network: original/branch distinctionBefore you disappear down the hole.
Is Suits LA season ten of Suits?
No. It is a separately titled spinoff centred on Ted Black and a Los Angeles ensemble. The original Suits has nine seasons.
When should I watch Pearson?
Our simplest recommendation is after finishing the original. A character-focused alternative branches after season seven, episode sixteen, “Good-Bye,” identified by USA as its backdoor pilot.
Do I need to alternate Suits and Pearson episodes?
This starter guide does not require it. Finish the original first, or use the explicit season-seven branch point and keep each series’ episode order intact. Those are editorial convenience routes rather than a precise fictional chronology.
