Movie marathon planner: fit your double feature
Add movie runtimes and an interval. Calculate the full running time, see how many films fit in your available window, and keep your chosen order.
Your programme
Example: two films of 100 and 110 minutes with a 15-minute interval.
- Whole marathon, including intervals
- 3h 45m
- Films that fit in your order
- 2
- Time left after those films
- 15m
Keep the cut and the interval straight
The total is the sum of the runtimes plus an interval between each pair of films. Two movies need one interval; three need two. There is no interval after the final film.
The fit result starts with your first film and stops when the next would exceed your time window. It keeps your order, rather than selecting a different combination. The example takes 225 minutes: 100 + 110 + 15. A four-hour window leaves 15 minutes.
Choosing editions? Compare the Lord of the Rings theatrical and extended runtimes, or choose a Star Wars film order.
